I was just thinking, having grown up with the assassination (I was 13), Warren reports, conspiracy theories, etc......and having been a fan of Stephen King's writing since Salem's Lot, i think that the dust cover of the book could have been much more attractive to the type of story that was to be told here. Just say, it had been jake eppling reaching through the rabbit hole to sadie dunhill with some kind of "the past" icon pushing him back, and somehow connecting it all to the assassination event -- then i might not have given this novel (a gift given in 2011 with no explanation of the book) away unread. But I did.
It may seem that the cover as i described it might be too "busy" but first, i am no cover designer and second, would that be any busier than the current cover?
And that is an honest opinion, i am not trying to second-guess the publishers and all........
